A seasonal rainwater harvesting system was added to this rural home. We installed an above ground tank with 1,200 gallon capacity on a gravel pad, modified the downpouts to lead to the tank, and installed a pre-filter between the tank and the downspouts. For rural properties relying on well water, seasonal rainwater collection for irrigation reduces the load on the well, reducing recharge times and saving well water for use in the house.
