RainWaterOne
SAVE MONEY AND HELP THE ENVIRONMENT
The RainWaterOne (RW1) seasonal rainwater harvesting system makes it easy to save money on your water bills and help the environment by capturing, storing, and using rainwater that falls on your property.
The RW1 captures 5 to 6 times more rainwater than a conventional rain barrel - each RW1 unit can hold up to 1,250 litres of rainwater, and can be easily connected together for even more collection capacity.
The RW1 is practical and easy to use, and comes complete with:
A leaf screen and pre-filter for exclusion of rooftop debris
A clear viewing port to show how much rainwater has been collected
An easy-to-use pump that feeds a conventional garden hose and plugs into a regular 120v outlet
An automatic overflow mechanism to safely release surplus water where desired
Simple valves to turn on and off collection as needed for easy wintertime draining
Mosquito-proof screening to keep your water and garden area clean and pest free
Now you can harvest more rainwater from your property and easily use it for watering your garden, filling birdbaths, cleaning your deck, or washing your car.
The RW1 model shown starts from $2,499.00.
BETTER THAN A RAIN BARREL
During a typical Canadian summer, residential water use jumps by 40% or more due to lawn and garden watering, and cities across Ontario are often forced to implement water use restrictions due to municipal supply shortages.
Most homeowners could reduce their water bills and become more water independent by collecting and using the free rainwater that runs off their roofs instead of municipally-treated tap water.
Conventional rain barrels are a step in the right direction, but they are impractical: they’re too small, they breed mosquitoes, and they are a hassle to use effectively and maintain properly.
Now there’s a better alternative: The RainWaterOne.
FEATURE RICH
Made from high-density polyethylene, surrounded by a galvanized steel cage, and placed in a beautiful wooden enclosure, the RW1 provides a sanitary, sturdy, UV resistant holding tank that blends in seamlessly to a residential garden. Filters and screens create a debris and mosquito-proof system to keep your water and garden clean.
Easily installed to any existing eavestrough downspouts, the RW1 can be installed and begin collection in a single day.
WaterFarmers provides expert consultation, delivery, and installation services to suit your needs. Service packages are available to provide regular maintenance, and custom enclosure options are also available for different enclosure materials and stain/ paint colours.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Rainwater harvesting is an easy way to responsibly utilize the natural resources on your property and benefit your local ecosystem while beautifying your yard.
Stormwater runoff is a cause of growing concern for the environment, and rainwater that falls on built environments becomes problematic as it is diverted into stormwater sewers, causing stormwater surges, flooding, and environmental degradation.
The RainWaterOne harvesting system allows rainwater to be collected where it falls and used for watering gardens and lawns, allowing rain to more slowly enter the ground and reducing stormwater runoff. Managing stormwater runoff on your property keeps garden soils healthy and helps reduce contamination of surface water.
VISIT THE DEMO SYSTEM
In partnership with the University of Guelph and the City of Guelph, WaterFarmers has installed a RainWaterOne demonstration system at The Arboretum’s J.C. Taylor Nature Centre building this spring. The demonstration site is open to the public and is meant to let people see a rainwater harvesting system in person, to raise awareness of the City of Guelph’s rainwater harvesting rebate programs, and to increase understanding of rainwater harvesting generally. The RW1 system is collecting rainwater from the Nature Centre roof and being used by Arboretum staff to water nearby gardens.
RESIDENTS OF GUELPH ARE ELIGIBLE FOR REBATE
The RainWaterOne from WaterFarmers is eligible for the City of Guelph’s Seasonal Rainwater Harvesting System Rebate of $0.50/litre of tank storage (up to maximum of $2,000). The 1,250-litre RW-1 base unit qualifies for a $625 rebate. Connect up to four RW1 units for the maximum $2,000 rebate. It is also possible to direct the RW1 overflow line into a rain garden, where another $2,000 City of Guelph rebate program would apply.
Limited availability. Property owners must apply directly to the City of Guelph for the rebate. Contact the City of Guelph for details by email at rainwater@guelph.ca or call 519-822-1260, ext. 2633.
WaterFarmers also designs and installs large-scale rainwater harvesting systems for commercial buildings and agriculture. Check out our Rainwater Harvesting page to learn more about larger and alternative rainwater harvesting systems, or contact us today.
